queer Emerging artist residency: cALL THEM IN

The “QEAR: Call Them In” video documents the site-specific performance of "We Built Love" a interdisciplinary arts performance as part of the project #DignityInProgress, “a nationally touring body of work in response to the Black Lives Matter movement merging ancestral healing, art activism, and intersectional identity evolution within the Queer/Afro-Indigenous community.”This showcase came from a week long residency, the Destiny Art's Center Queer Emerging Artist Residency, a residency for emergeing queer artists of color between the ages of 18-24 who are interested in utilizing art and performance as tools for social change. During this video, I am captured reciting original poetry and dancing a piece that I choreographed and taught Nafi.
