The Niggas Speak of Rivers

The following images captures the cast of “The Niggas Speak of Rivers”, a performance art piece, otherwise, where the Black queer kids convene with ancestors in the water via baptism. Where we center epistomolgies that understand the deep interconnection between land and flesh and spirit. Showcased by my fomer collective, The Fine Ass Queer Artsy Heauxs, who met during an iteration of the Destiny Art's Center Queer Emerging Artist Residence, this particular performance dealt with themes of gender fluidity, the polity of dark black transness, while retelling the inherent queerness of the Black church.
